Fine Coal Recovery	Taggart has patented a process design for fine coal recovery that employs spiral technology that enables the processing and recovery of coal size fractions 0.15mm – 0.044mm and 0.044mm – 0. The ultra-fine spiral technology delivers the same efficiencies as flotation methods with significantly lower operating costs.
Cyclone Technology	After 10 years of testing, the company has developed a combined cyclone / spiral technology, which is the most advanced and efficient cleaning method for fine coal down to 325 mesh. Taggart's Plant Operations Division utilizes this technology to perform in-plant testing on in-house cyclone designs in order to help optimize the performance of existing methods.
Clean-burn Technology	Taggart is conducting research on promising pre-boiler technology that will offer burning efficiencies that dramatically decrease the emissions of carbon, sulfur, mercury, and other incombustible materials associated with coal.
Plant Design	Taggart’s proprietary modular plant design reduces a facility’s overall dimensions, which in turn reduces the energy required to operate the plant and its equipment. In addition, the smaller footprint enables more efficient and streamlined access to plant equipment with a single overhead crane, offering additional operational and environmental benefits. Savings in construction materials are also realized with this more efficient design, as are accelerated construction schedules. Taggart’s modular design incorporates several patented processes.
Process Design	Through the company’s experience and research, Taggart has decreased by nearly 40% the amount of equipment needed in the plants that it designs and builds, significantly improving efficiencies and saving clients’ capital and operating costs.
Environmental Controls	Taggart’s innovative design of coal preparation plants and material handling systems exceeds the standards of environmental compliance. Through our years of practical experience, we apply effective environmental controls that protect resources and maintain capital efficiency. Taggart designs preparation plants, load out facilities and material handling systems that use environmentally friendly chemical additives that minimize impact to the environment and maintain product integrity.
