History

Since 1993, Taggart Global has amassed an impressive portfolio of international projects and has grown from 15 U.S. employees to over 750 employees worldwide. The company continues to expand its services and operations to meet the growing global demand for its proven solutions.

Developments in the global market have spurred Taggart’s growth, while innovations and experience have solidified its leading position. Below is a timeline of the company’s history and growth.

TAGGART’s Global Expansion
1993 Founding of Sedgman USA, a joint venture with Sedgman Australia, aimed at upgrading and modernizing U.S. coal preparation plants.
1996 Expansion to a full turnkey operation by founding Southern Cross Construction.
2000 Formation of Taggart Global China to design and construct new coal preparation plants and upgrade existing plants in China.
2004 Taggart Global do Brazil Ltda. opens in Sao Paulo.
Taggart Global CIS, LLC commences operations in Russia.
2005 Founding of Taggart Global Canada Ltd.
2006 Taggart Global name replaces Sedgman USA as part of company’s restructuring and the buyout of Australian owners.
2006 Agreement with Natural Resource Partners (NRP) to seek joint U.S. business opportunities in which NRP and Taggart capitalize and own coal infrastructure projects built by Taggart.
2007 Formation of Taggart Global Electrical with the company’s purchase of Robertson P&E, a fully integrated electrical engineering group.
2008 Acquisition of a majority ownership in Jim Harrison Design Associates, an engineering firm based in Johannesburg, South Africa that specializes in coal preparation and material handling projects.
2008 Strategic partnership agreement with Ausenco, a publicly traded international engineering and project management group based in Brisbane, Australia, to undertake coal preparation and handling projects in Australia and the Pacific Rim.
2008 Establishment of TagOp Company through an alliance agreement with Natural Resource Partners (NRP) in which NRP supplies capital for plant projects that Taggart builds and operates.
