Taggart Global Commissions Six Coal Preparation Plants
Taggart sets industry record for Greenfield construction projects with more plants underway
Pittsburgh, PA – June 15, 2009 – Taggart Global, LLC (Taggart), a world leader in the delivery of coal preparation plants and material handling systems, today announced that the company has commissioned six new coal preparation plants in the United States over the last six months. These projects together represent 75% of all new plants constructed in the United States during that time period, which is a new industry record.
“Taggart has continued to experience significant growth through the first two quarters of 2009 despite the worldwide economic downturn,” said Richard McCormick, Taggart’s president and CEO. “We look to continue the trend with current and new projects. By offering superior service and innovative design and construction, Taggart continues to increase its overall share of the U.S. and global markets.”
In total, the six new plants will process 25 million tons of raw coal annually. The plants include:
- Licking River Coal Preparation Plant for Licking River Resources, LLC commissioned December 2008,
which is also operated by Taggart;
- Sanders Plant for INR commissioned January 2009;
- PBS Coal’s Cambria Plant commissioned January 2009;
- Cline Resources’ Buckeye Plant commissioned March 2009;
- Magnum’s Blue Creek Plant commissioned April 2009; and
- Coresco Plant for Mepco completed May 2009.
Taggart is on schedule to commission two more coal preparation plants by the end of 2009. The combined processing capacity for the eight new plants constructed by Taggart will be in excess of 40 million tons per year. In addition to the projects currently underway, Taggart has recently been awarded contracts for the construction of two new coal preparation plants and material handling systems, both of which are scheduled to be completed in 2010.
