In 2008 the company acquired a controlling interest in Jim Harrison Design Associates (Pty) Ltd (JHDA), a leading engineering company specializing in coal beneficiation technologies, bringing together two leaders in the field of minerals processing and handling to the global mining, power generation sectors, and to mineral producers operating in the coal, diamonds, iron ore, manganese, chrome ore, and bauxite markets. In 2010 Taggart acquired a controlling interest in LSL Consulting (Pty) Ltd and Tekpro Projects (Pty) Ltd (LSL/TEKPRO), experts in coal and mineral handling technologies. Together, Taggart, JHDA and LSL/TEKPRO pursue large-scale coal and mineral processing and material handling projects throughout Africa.

JHDA is an engineering firm specializing in the delivery of processing technologies and handling equipment for the mining sector.
